Two Killed After SUV Hits Deer In New England

The incident took place in Middlesex County on I-495 in Chelmsford around 4:50 a.m., Friday, June 3.

When troopers arrived on the scene they discovered a 2016 Nissan Rogue driven by a 53-year-old Acton man in a stand of trees in the median, said Trooper Brandon Doherty. 

The man and his passenger were determined to be dead on the scene, Doherty said.

The passenger is still in the process of being identified.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the crash. The deer was killed in the crash, he said.

The left lanes of Route 495 North and southbound were closed until approximately 10 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation by members of Troop A.

State Police were assisted on the scene by Chelmsford police, fire and EMS, and the office of the chief medical examiner.
